2018 was a very busy year for us and saw some huge changes to the company. Originally founded by Kevin in the late 1980s. After being in the gas industry for over 45 years, Kevin decided to step down and hand the company over to myself (Rob O’Brien) and my wife Kate. Kate came from a clerical role within Local Authority Building Control where she worked for over 15 years and so brings a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to the company.
Kevin works with us on a part time basis to help guide us through the transitional period, but he is hoping to finally get some time in his garden and hopefully have time to do more open days! So if you need some gardening advice whilst having the boiler serviced please ask for Kevin!
We are striving to improve efficiency, so along with our new website we will be trialing a new web booking system for gas appliance services, please give it a try! We will still be contactable on all the original telephone numbers if you would like to chat to us in person. The office is open Monday – Friday.
We take huge pride in training the next generation of engineers having myself come through an apprenticeship 24 years ago. Kevin has had many trainees over the years and this is something that we will be carrying on into the future. We took on our first apprentice this year and we also had an apprentice from Worcester Bosch join us to broaden their range of gas work.
One of our main passions is to support local charities and we will be carrying on where Kevin left off. We continue to support VAR with the Christmas gift appeal, Rutland Reminders, Rutland Stroke Club and Oakham United FC. All donations raised from the window leaflets, our generous customers and from ourselves go directly to these chosen charities.
